Bnei Mitzvah 

This is Part 1 of the Messianic Jewish Bnei Mitzvah program. This course teaches the alephbet and vowels, how to read Hebrew, and introduces some basic vocabulary in twelve lessons. The letters of the alephbet are introduced alongside spiritual and biblical insights from both traditional Jewish and Messianic Jewish contexts. This course is foundational for later preparations to read and cant the Torah portions.

This is the second workbook in the Messianic Jewish Bnei Mitzvah series. In this workbook, students learn what a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is, how to pray, how to memorize Bible verses, and how the Torah is organized by parashot and aliyot. After that, the rest of this workbook is devoted to a study of selected Torah portions. Each lesson includes a Bible memory verse and a Hebrew word that corresponds to the lesson. Key concepts include creation, sin, and salvation, interconnectedness, calling, and covenant, birthrights and relationships, Messiah ben Joseph and Messiah ben David, Adonai as provider, protector, and guide, Yeshua as the word, Yeshua in the mishkan, and Yeshua in the offerings, what it means to follow God, and much more. Lesson reviews, quizzes, and a final test are all included.

This is Part 3 of the Bnei Mitzvah program. Whereas Part 1 introduced students to reading biblical Hebrew, and Part 2 introduced students to selected Torah portions and increased Hebrew vocabulary, Part 3 focuses on the biblical books of the prophets and increases students’ fluency in reading Hebrew. Each lesson contains a Bible memory verse in English and in Hebrew. Students gain an understanding of the historical context of the prophets and see Messianic prophecies in scripture.

Torah Cantillation is Part 8 in the Messianic Jewish Bnei Mitzvah Program. This workbook teaches students how to sing the 28 cantillation marks in the Torah and how to sing each cantillation mark within the special clause patterns. At the end of this section, students will be able to sing any Torah portion with accuracy. Free audio files are included on the Bnei Mitzvah page of the website.
