About

Elisa Norman, DMin in Messianic Jewish Studies from The King’s University in Southlake, TX, has devoted her life to studying and sharing the Word of God and the good news about Yeshua the Messiah. She came to saving faith in Yeshua as the Messiah when she was seven years old.

Elisa has been active in the Messianic Jewish community since 2005. She is the Director of Congregational Life and the Head of the Children’s Ministry at her congregation. Elisa’s doctoral project was a study of women in Messianic Jewish ministry leadership. She has published articles in Kesher journal and has created curricula for children’s ministry and Bnei Mitzvah preparation. Additionally, she teaches Biblical Hebrew, Davidic dance, and Israeli dance.

Although Elisa’s parents were not raised Jewish, they converted to Judaism in 2011 after her father discovered his Jewish ancestry. Elisa and her family, however, chose to remain in Messianic Judaism, for Yeshua said, “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33).

The mission of Messianic Jewish Education Resources is to provide resources for congregations and individuals to learn and teach Bible basics from a distinctly Messianic Jewish perspective, including reading the Bible in Hebrew, worshiping through Davidic dance, preparing for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, and seeing Yeshua on every page of the Torah. Messianic Jewish Education Resources is dedicated to preserving Jewish traditions and culture and helping Jewish believers in Yeshua to follow Yeshua as Jews, maintaining Jewish identity and continuity. Messianic Jewish Education Resources also warmly welcomes and supports non-Jews who feel called by God to worship alongside Jewish believers in a Messianic Jewish congregation.

Statement of Faith

Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah and savior of the world. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit are one, as is stated in the Shema: Adonai, Eloheinu, Adonai, echad (Deuteronomy 6:4). In the beginning, God created humankind in his image, male and female. Through free choice, humankind sinned, and God’s perfect world became subject to brokenness. To redeem his world, God sent his Son, his own right arm, to enter the world as fully human and fully God. He lived a perfect life, died the death that we deserve, resurrected from the dead, and sits at the right hand of God the Father, interceding on our behalf. He is the only way to restoration with God. Yeshua sent his Spirit to indwell his believers to guide us, to unite us, and to enable us to live fruitful and righteous lives. The covenants God made with Israel and the Jewish people are ongoing and eternal. The Jewish people are called to be a holy nation and a kingdom of priests (Exodus 19:5-6), a nation into which Gentile believers are grafted (Romans 11). The land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people as an eternal inheritance, and Jerusalem is the capital city from which Yeshua will reign when he returns.
